Fasnacht 2026 BLIS

Kindergarten and Primary Fasnacht Parade - Friday 13th February 2026

As every year, our Kindergarten and Primary pupils will be taking part in the local Oberwil School Fasnacht Parade. This year, the parade will take place on Friday, 13th February 2026, and we are very much looking forward to this special event.

The parade officially starts at 10:00 am. We will walk along the main street in Oberwil, up and down the village centre. Parents are very welcome to come and watch from the sidewalk and support our pupils. For safety reasons, we kindly remind you that parents are not permitted to step into the road, as this is reserved for the children and the parade groups.

The children should bring a small shoulder bag (we will be providing confetti and individually wrapped sweets), which they can throw or hand out to spectators during the parade and not vice-versa. They will be proudly wearing the wonderful costumes they have carefully prepared together with their teachers in class.

After the parade, we will return to school, where the children will sing a few traditional Fasnacht songs. The rest of the school day will then continue according to the normal timetable.

Preschool Fasnacht Celebration – Monday, 9th February - Friday 13th February 2026

For our Preschool groups, we will be hosting our own Fasnacht Week (for the children exclusively) at BLIS during the week of Monday 9th to Friday 13th February 2026, in House 150 (in each group respectively). During this week, preschoolers are welcome to come to school dressed in costume and enjoy fun-filled celebrations, activities and songs with their classmates and teachers.

For ALL BLIS Families: BLIS Fasnacht Stand – Saturday, 14th February 2026

However, and most importantly, all our families (Preschool, After School Care, Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary) are warmly invited to visit our BLIS stand at the big Fasnacht celebrations street parade in Oberwil (in front of the Beauty Lounge) on Saturday, 14th February from 14:00 pm onwards. We will be offering food, drinks, and goodie bags, and would be more than delighted to see many of our families there.
